To explore the flexibility of this form, I experimented by changing the space proportions and center position. The 3 by 3 chart can be read vertically, horizontally, and diagonally. In each direction, one could focus on how this 2D form changes in one variable. With the final geometry, I focused on the shearing action and the balance in composition.
As I repeated the steps again, I created a form that encompasses circularity and a central axis. In continuing the idea of duality, I divided the spaces according to work and rest, individual and collective, and interior and exterior. Thus, I paired kitchen and dining, living and office, bedroom and living. In plan and elevations, I maintained a “loop” element in generating a continuous circulation from start to finish. Thus, these loops overlap with each other in drawings, while in model, the circulation is an “untangled” and continuous movement.
