In the Equilibrium task, our group was asked to create a structure that holds up a platform. We began with an unbalanced “L” shaped beam that remained constant through the six variations. The transparent disk was the platform that was held up in three different methods of support: one-point, two-point, and compression. All the other beams and cubes were attached through a hanging method, which makes the forces act upon them singularly. As a result, no element needs to be added to provide supporting force from the base — utilizing the load-bearing capacity of the original “L” beam.
